All the gear and loads of ideas!

There are some things that just make life a little bit simpler. Like a microwave or a lawnmower – you could do the job just as well another way, but that little machine makes your task that bit easier.

You could apply the same principle to travelling. When we started taking trips in our Campervan, we realised there were some products available that could make our trip smoother. Not essentials, but sometimes a few extras helped make the holiday go that extra mile.

These items (and much more) are now available from our Add-On list, to hire along with your VanGlorious Campervan, allowing you to tailor your holiday to your exact requirements.

Awning:

One of the first things we bought was the Vango Drive Away awning, which fits perfectly onto the VW California. It’s an air beam awning, meaning no tent poles! The main support beams are inflated using the supplied pump, and this creates the main structure, the rest is just a bit of pegging out.

One of the great things about the Drive Away awning is that there is room enough inside to put your table and chairs, your luggage, a couple of surf boards and maybe the Porta-Potti too. The whole lot can stay on your pitch whilst you take the van for a day trip, returning to your camp later and just joining the awning back to the van with a simple connector.

Bike Rack:

As a keen cycling family we wanted to be able to take our bikes with us on our travels and found the Thule bike racks to be the best. We have a tow-bar mounted x4 Thule Bike Rack available to hire, which can be seen in the photo. This bike rack has the function of tipping down to the ground, with all the bikes on it, which allows you to raise the boot door with ease. This bike rack is highly secure, keeping all the cycles locked in with their individual clamps, locked by a key. Peace of mind whilst you are on the beach!

Cobb:

The Cobb is an absolute dream. It’s called the ‘Kitchen in a Bag’ and it lives up to that name. It is more than just a BBQ, it’s a High-Spec versatile outdoor cooking system. Whilst it is great for cooked breakfasts and BBQs, we have even cooked pizzas and roasted a chicken in it! One of the great things about it is that it uses ‘Cobblestones’ for the heat. These are made of coconut husks and heat up to full temperature in 5 minutes. The oven is still hot after two hours, ready for pudding and of course the marshmallows. The Cobb can also use briquettes and charcoal lumpwood, but we supply some Cobblestones when you hire the kitchen.

Add-Ons:

The full list of our Add-Ons is available of the website, we also have

      • Thule Roof box, for some extra storage. The roof box can stay on the van even when the roof is raised, as long as it’s pretty empty!

      • Thule Luggage bags that fit exactly in the roof box.

      • Porta-Potti chemical loo by Thetford.

      • Lighting pack with extra solar lamps.

      • Games pack with board and card games (age appropriate!).
